What matters to us
We see ourselves as a family practice. We extend the same warmth, compassion and understanding to you as we would our own family.
We place a big emphasis on:
✓ Informing you – providing you with information so that you can make informed choices.
✓ Partnership – working together with you – your body, your birth, your health, your choices – our support, expertise and guidance.
✓ Approachable – it is important to us that you feel calm, safe and at ease.
Who we are
Dr Malcolm Godfrey
MBBS, FRANZCOG
Malcolm completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Sydney before moving to Newcastle where he finished his training as a gynaecologist and obstetrician. He works as a consultant in the John Hunter Hospital where he keeps current with the latest developments and trains the next generation of gynaecologists and obstetricians in Newcastle.
He grew up on the Central Coast NSW and was drawn by the friendliness and community feel of the Hunter region. He has happily settled here with his wife Victoria and their three beautiful children.
“Time with my family is the most important thing to me.”
Malcolm loves his running and can often be seen along the shores of Lake Macquarie, or spending time at the beach.
Victoria Godfrey
Accounts Manager, Part-time Reception
Victoria has been working behind the scenes since Malcolm started his practice. Now their three children are in school she enjoys being in the office part time and managing the accounts side of the practice.
Getting to know the patients and helping them along their journeys is Victoria’s favourite part of her role. With a background in office management in small businesses Victoria is used to dealing with a variety of requests and tasks. Victoria loves helping our patients with any query.
“I love meeting our patients and answering their questions. Everyone's experiences are so different, it's really satisfying to be a small part of people's journeys.”
Away from the office Victoria loves hanging out with her family, reading (when she can steal a moment to herself), dabbling in yoga, and running.
Natalie Reid
Part-time Reception
We welcomed Natalie to our team in August 2021. She brings with her 15 years of business administration experience and has quickly become an integral part of our team.
“I really enjoy getting to know our patients and following their pregnancy journeys.”
The first thing you will notice about Natalie is that she is Scottish! Natalie first visited Australia in 2004 when she took some time to travel. She fell in love with Australia and in 2017 she and her husband decided to emigrate.
Outside the office Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, she is a Mum to two boys and a daughter. She loves attending live music and theatre shows, as well as getting to experience all the lovely places that Australia has to offer. Whenever she can she likes to visit her family in Scotland.
Brooke GillMidwife
We would like to welcome Brooke to our clinic.
Brooke is one of the incredible midwives who works with Dr Godfrey. She works in the Birth Suite, the Maternity Assessment Unit (MAU), and the postnatal ward at Newcastle Private Hospital. She will be joining us in our clinic every Monday to work alongside Malcolm, seeing our antenatal patients.
She is fun, proactive, highly skilled, and carries a great energy with her. A total powerhouse! In her spare time Brooke likes to head to the beach with her hubby and her boys. You can find her in the garden, socialising, and on a holiday during summer. We are so excited to have you, Brooke. Our antenatal patients are in for a treat!
"I became a midwife after having babies of my own and fell in love with the idea of looking after women and their families during such a special time in their life".
